Socktober: Fish Lips Kiss Heel

Fish Lips Kiss Heel Sock

It’s “Socktober” so why not learn a new technique and kick up your heels a notch?! (See what I did there?)

You may have even heard of this very popular short row heel pattern, the Fish Lips Kiss Heel by Patty Joy (Soxtherapist on Ravelry).

Join me at Yarnability on Wednesdays October 20 and October 27  at 6:00pm-8:00pm to learn this sock heel. This is a 2 session class.

Class Fee: $45 for the class (not including tax) when you buy the project yarn at Yarnability.  (Class fee is $75 if you bring in stash yarn.)

Class Registration: Sign Up for Class Here!

Yarn:100 grams of sock weight yarn and needle size to obtain gauge.

Needles: US sizes 1, 1.5 or 2 depending upon your gauge

Experience Needed:  Intermediate. Prior sock knitting and/or knitting in the round with small gauge needles and yarn.

  • Week 1: Pattern review, creating your own personal foot template, and casting on for toe up construction.
  • Week 2: Work the Fish Lips Kiss (FLK) heel

Pattern: This pattern is an INCREDIBLE deal for $1.00 purchased on Ravelry HERE!

The pattern designer gives praise that this heel has: No wraps, No gaps, No math, No picking up stitches

I can attest that I have used this heel pattern on both toe up and cuff down socks. I love the look, the fit, and the knit!

When you first open this pattern you may feel that it is a bit daunting. It is after all, 16 pages in length! But, do not be alarmed, those 16 pages are FILLED with endless helpful tips and pictures.
