Needle Felting

Have you wanted to try your hand at a new fiber arts skill? Join me at Yarnability with instructor Lleona Chew of Aniclay Art on Saturday July 8 and July 15 to learn needle felting. THREE different beginner level needle felting classes are being offered. (These classes are for adults and children 14 years of age and up.) 

Ditch the toxic fabric softeners and dryer sheets and learn to make all natural, virgin wool dryer balls that will last for years to come!  In this three hour course, instructor Lleona Chew will guide you through the needle felting process-from picking the right wool to how to use those tiny felting needles. You will learn a brief history of this exciting new art form, basic needle felting techniques, and get plenty of guided practice as you stab your way to a healthier load of laundry.
Class Date and Times: July 8 from 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm

Class Fee: $55

Class fee includes supplies to make three dryer balls,all necessary tools and materials, class handouts and expert instruction. Perfect for beginners.

The gnomes are coming! Join in the fun at Yarnability on July 15 at 9am – 12pm with local artist Lleona Chew of Aniclay Art as we combine fluffy curls and cute little toes to create a classic gnome for your home. This three hour workshop will teach you basic needle felting techniques, how to handle delicate sheep curls, sculptural felting skills, and how to add personality and whimsy to your creations.

Fee includes supplies to make one needle felted gnome, all necessary tools and materials, class handouts and expert instruction. Class size limited to 6.

Join me at Yarnability on July 15 at 2pm – 5pm to work with local artist Lleona Chew, of Aniclay Art as she shows you how to create your own adorable little hedgehog! Perfect for beginning needle felters, this three hour project will teach you basic needle felting techniques, how to handle delicate sheep curls, how to build a simple armature, and basic face construction.

Class fee includes supplies to make one hedgehog, all necessary tools and materials, class handouts and expert instruction. Class size limited to 6.
