Learn To Knit

Knitting students learn to cast on, create the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and how to bind off. During this time, knitting students will also learn how to combine knit and purl stitches to create patterned stitches (i.e. garter stitch, stockinette stitch, and seed stitch). Knitting students will learn how to “read their knitting.”

Learn to Knit is a 2 hour introduction class. The class fee is $25. Students are encouraged to purchase their class supplies Yarnability prior to class. Supplies include: Worsted to Chunky weight smooth yarn and a US size 8 (5.0 mm) needle for worsted weight or US size 10 (6.0mm) needle for chunky weight.

We offer and optional Learn To Knit Kit ($30) that includes:

• How to Knit by Leslie Bestor is a reference book helpful for new students
• 1 pair of US size 8 (5.0mm) needles
• 50 grams worsted weight yarn
• Plastic darning needle
• Locking stitch markers
