ShardThe Shard, by Romi Hill, is an asymmetrical shawl that relies on a hand dyed yarn with an intentional color repeat. As you work this shawl, you will work short rows when you come to the color repeat in your yarn. This is an organic knit that will keep your interest as you watch your shawl unfold.

I have 5 color ways available in Ewe Sock from The Wired Alpaca that will work to make this project.

Skills Needed:  Proficient in knit and purl. Prior short row experience is helpful but not mandatory.

Skills Learned:  Wrap and Turn Short Rows and German Short Rows

Needles: size US 6 needles with 32″ cable

Yarn: 1 skein of hand dyed fingering weight yarn with 12-14″ color repeat. (I recommend Ewe Sock from The Wired Alpaca).

Pattern: Shard Pattern available on Ravelry or through in-store purchase at Yarnability. Please print or download on your device and bring to class.

Notions: 10 stitch markers, 1 should be different than the other 9 and a Stitch holder

Cost: $25 for the class when you buy the yarn from Yarnability. $35 for the class when you bring your own yarn from stash.

Dates/Times:  Friday June 23 at 6pm-8pm, Saturday June 24 at 1pm-3pm, or Sunday June 25 at 10am-12pm. Class size limited to 6 students per class day/time.
