Yarnability Classes

Yarnability offers a variety of classes for beginners to advanced students. We provide project-guided classes — see our Calendar — as well as beginner instruction in knitting and crochet — see our Learn/Enhance classes. Class sizes are small in order to provide you with time and attention.

Class costs cover the education and time with the instructor to learn the project/pattern. Yarnability offers a range of products for a range of budgets and fiber preferences. Project materials can often be purchased from $15 to $40.

Cancellation Policy: Class fees are not refundable unless the class is canceled by the shop. If cancellation is made prior to 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit for use for any future purchase with the shop. Your registration is valid for the dates listed in the description only.

We offer children's classes for both crocheting and knitting for children ages 8 and up. Please email to request a date/time. Additionally, parent/child classes are also offered.

Want to Enhance your skills?

This time is for those students who have learned the basics of knitting or crochet and want to advance their skills. We can offer assistance with pattern reading, learning new techniques, or providing help with a current project.

How to Knit Kits!

Learn to Knit

Using Leslie Bestor’s book How to Knit as a reference guide, new students will gain a solid understanding of how yarn is created with a variety of fibers. You will learn how to read yarn labels and choose the right tools for knitting.

Knitting students learn to cast on, create the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and how to bind off. During this time, knitting students will also learn how to combine knit and purl stitches to create patterned stitches (i.e. garter stitch, stockinette stitch, and seed stitch). Knitting students will learn how to “read their knitting.”
