Yarnability is THRILLED to be one of the most recent registered local yarn shops across the country to become part of the Knitted Knockers charitable group that provides breast cancer survivors with soft, comfortable, knitted prosthetics.Knitted Knockers

Using approved yarn and patterns from the Knitted Knockers organization, join me at Yarnability on Sunday May 14 to kick off our very own knitted knocker group from 1pm-3pm. I will provide the space and have copies of the patterns. You buy the yarn and bring your needles. Assistance with working the patterns will be provided.

Knitting patterns are available for knitting flat, knitting in the round on DPNS, and magic loop method. Crochet versions are also available.

Knitted Knockers has provided a list of approved yarns. Yarnability is carrying 2 of the approved yarn lines in flesh tones.

Bamboo Pop from Universal Yarns. This is a 50/50 cotton/bamboo DK weight yarn. The suggested needle size is a US 5. This yarn is appropriate for knit or crochet knockers.

Tatamy DK from Kraemer Yarns. This a 45/50 cotton/acrylic DK weight yarn. The suggested needle size is a US 5.  This yarn is appropriate for knit knockers and is suitable for swimming.
